I really dig how androgynous this is on tracks like Black Rabbit, this is a uniquely tasteful stab at a style that almost universally comes across tasteless. although the brief hip hop and trap bits offer a momentary reprieve from tastefulness

it still kind of inherently toes the line of "cringe" territory but credit where credit is due

Songs like "Memento Mori" just have no point in having them

these guys have potential though, for sure. all they need to do is take the BMTH route, find out what they do the best after writing music in few different genres in different stlyes, and make their decisions accordingly. so bad that they're going to break up before that though.

most bands like this break up before they can get a good audience and these genres are already dying

Mighty presumptuous to assume a band's gonna hang up the towel after their first LP. Scale it back a bit there lad.

%90 of the bands in the swancore subgenre just disappear from everywhere after their debut, I'd say these guys even made it long. i don't think these guys too are gonna be around for too long.

Wasn’t sure what to expect going into this, but it’s more heavy-handed with the rap and r&b than I was expecting. It’s not bad, I kinda like it. Reminds me of something out of Joji’s catalogue.

As much as I love this album, Memento Mori frustrates me to no end. It's such a fantastic song, and it gets butchered by that shoehorned in rap bit at the end that doesn't fit at all. If they really wanted that rap bit, they could've made it a small interlude between tracks, but imo it should've been axed altogether. What makes it even more frustrating is that they have other songs that include the rapping in such a more seamless manner. Hell, Sweet Nothin' kinda has the same format but it's done a thousand times better and doesn't feel so out of left field, like a truly cohesive song.

Aye, couldn't have said it better myself. It is a very compelling debut, but they definitely have room to develop it in a much more cohesive manner. As it stands, it's a bit immature at parts, as I don't think they've fully realized what they want to do/concentrate on. Future is bright for them if they keep at it.
