I'd say it's on par with Construct, Fiction and Atoma, better than WatV, but worse than pretty much everything else (except for The Mind's I). So yeah, middle of the road DT is right

Haven’t gone over every album tbh so can’t argue. I started with Character when that came out but didn’t continue close contact with DT. After being astounded by Moment last year I’ve gone back a bit but should really go on a discog run

Character is my favorite album of theirs along with Haven, but if you're looking for a place to start, this album is as good as any to do that. They have many amazing albums, depending on what you're looking for. My other faves are Damage Done and Projector, but other than the really early stuff, most of it should suit you if you liked this.

Haven is a very special album to me because of the atmosphere and it just gets me emotionally like no other DT album, most would agree DD is better, but to me Haven is a perfect album

Jivarp and Iwers left the band. This is truly "Mikael, Martin and friends" now. Not too hopeful about the future of DT, they had a rock solid lineup for decades now it's a turnstile.

Yup, just read about that too. Anders Jivarp was the only other original member left. I wonder how the next album will turn out.

Damn. Sundin was always my favorite member, loved his songs and contributions in general (even all the early lyrical work he did for In Flames was some of their discogs best) - was bummed to see him go, but hopeful…losing Jivarp now? Not sure about that, haha

He contributed a lot to songwriting back in the day so we'll see what changes. I'll have to double check credits on this album since if this is mostly Mikael and Martin with writing credits I think the sound is gonna keep going where this album was heading.

from what i remember it sounded like Martin wrote a majority of the music on this. Jivarp is one of the tightest drummers. Dude is practically a machine. I know he's been having fun with the Tuborg boys and all that, and at this point hope he just enjoys doing what he's doing. He has a legacy behind him.

Thank you for the incredible run of great music. They may continue on, but at this point, without Jivarp arranging the music, I don't see a ton of great material in their future. I hope they prove me wrong...

it's crazy that from their demo days all the way up to Construct they kept 4 out of 5 original members, its felt like those four would be there forever and in the relatively short time since construct they're down to 1.
