Is it gonna hit my ears like a giant cacophonous machine gaining existence / sentience because that’s really all I need from these dudes omg

Oversteps is the only album of theirs I've ever truly loved. Everything else has been interesting, and I can respect it on an experimentation and method level, but nothing that resonates on a level of feeling for me. Like it's made by computers for computers or something. Sounds like this one is in similar vein to Oversteps, so will definitely check it out.

An actual fully automated pseudo-mechanical large appliance techno-orgy like what used to be made

Does this ever get better than the opening 3 songs because damn those were bad

If this is in the same vein than Oversteps I'm over this so hard, this was my favorite album of theirs. I'll have to give this a listen.

Mix feels about the first track so far. Sounds a bit meh for Autechre, but it might grow. Gotta head out for work but I’ll get to the rest later.

This is like a 3.75 for me. Reminds me of the more subdued moments of LP5/EP7, Confield, Quaristices, Oversteps, L event in NTS levels

some autechre staple jarring percussive elements aside some of the synths on this are so pretty and surprisingly focal to the tracks

Yeah, this has barely any semblance to their recent material
