I'm trying to keep positive. Definitely true that performing arts have been really hurt by this whole situation.

Listen to Candiria!

I gotta try when I see an opening. They sound nothing like this, but are equally underappreciated and badass.

Lol, I respect the representation. I'll try to get around to it.

Candiria are awesome. Definitely a band that flew under the radar, but has a cult following.

What Doesn't Kill You... is in my top 5 all-time. Just never gets old.

One of the best albums to be an album, I reckon

This sounds goooooood, but then so does the original so... ? And yeah these guys definitely have their own little niche. Most prog-death gets needlessly compared to Opeth, but admittedly some bands do stray a tad close to their influences (which is something I would never accuse these guys of).

I think I prefer this to the original in all honesty, it just sounds so much more lively in comparison.

If this doesn't work, then Core should change your mind.

Core is actually shockingly heavy considering the style - i.e. melodic death, with symphonic elements and even some fem cleans. I played it for my mum (she likes Opeth, so not a strange thing to do) and it only dawned on me once I'd heard it through someone else's ears.

The opening of "Sanctuary" is one of the best moments Persefone have crafted. Martins sounds fucking demonic on those highs.

Also, if the intro riff of "Underworld" isn't the catchiest goddamn thing I dunno what to say

requested a song from this on Become the Knight's streams couple days ago as I was enthused it had released (you know, the music snob guy on yt), some parts he physically facepalmed at which I have no idea why, kinda bummed me out, but we live on, I think I conceived my notions on this rerecording a bit early

Have never heard of that guy, but I don't follow the reviewing scene on YouTube. Just the occasional Fantano video here and there.

he is less than enthused when ever he hears Persefone, and he has even heard stuff from Aathma, he is a big Dream Theater guy, I find it really strange he doesn't dig Persefone, they seem like they'd be right up his alley, he also digs old Opeth, in general it's really hard to impress him with anything on his streams, even if request something you think is "safe" (like something similar to DT), he always has something to complain about lmao
