Why does this keep reminding people of bands that are really bad
bitch if you're implying that Vi Som Alskade are bad y'all better get ready to catch these hands

No way, Vi Som are spectacular
Birds in Row and Numenoran suck tho
Damn Storm I honestly had no idea he could be an offensive weapon like that
What do you think about them getting rid of Donovan?

Numenorean are dumb if nothing else than for their idiotic edgelord artwork (their music is super generic also), but i fuck with Birds in Row. love me some solid emoviolence (if that is what they are, idk they sound kinda like Loma Prieta)

Donovan left because the Thunder told him they had no idea what would happen this offseason and couldn't guarantee him anyone is safe on the roster. I would have left too possibly. Can't blame him.

Oh wait, really?? Didn't know he wasn't fired

I didn’t think that Numonorean cover was so terrible in the context of what they were trying to say, but I get where you’re coming from. The sound wasn’t bad, it was decent. Birds in Row are great. Particularly the early stuff. I remembered the first time I heard Pilori and it floored me.
Edit: I’d just call Birds in Row Screamo/skramz. Emoviolence has blast beats and it’s generally a bit more brutal than regular Screamo, but there’s obviously overlap.

minus the cleans, this reminds me a lot of Iselia's first album, which is to say this isn't bad at all. I haven't put much effort yet into listening for the lyrics

This is (kind of) where I'm at, just change suck to 'unremarkable' and we can agree, having said that I could do with giving those artists more of my attention before dismissing them. From memory I don't remember BiR sounding much like this.

Birds in Row are alright but I haven't really felt like revisiting them since.

I really don't mind the lyrics tbh. They obviously care about the subject the matter, and if there's one thing I despise it's apathetic metal/vapid lyricists. This is not those things.

bad metal lyrics: talk about real world issues
good metal lyrics: grrrr i want to kill myself slaughter the innocents grrrrrr fuck god i am so tortured

Stirring up discussion is exactly what they want to accomplish so I'd say they're hiting the mark here. The lyrics themselves really are not bothersome at all, and in the case of many songs here, they are great compliments to the music.

Yeah the existential angst schtick has to be really well thought these days. It's been done to fucking death. And speaking of Death, Schuldiner screaming about crack babies might have ruined Spiritual Healing for me, but I can definitely get down with feminist blackgaze/post-hardcore.
With Mars here. Moments like the vox leading up to the crescendo of Currency Of Beauty just hit the feels hard.

It's also not just about important issues per the more feminist-inspired lyrics, but also just about respect people in general with regards to mental health. That's something I imagine plenty of people can relate to easily.

oh it does, don't get me wrong, it's just very amusing to think about (until you realize they somehow execute it pretty well)

"i think your experience affirms his analogy though. i took it to mean: if lyrics are important to you then they'll have a qualitative impact, as would personality on appearance, but neither have an inherent impact."
You understand me bb ❤️
