I've seen this said multiple times now and there's absolutely no evidence/ reason for it. Sergio was never a part of the core and even though he was with them for a long time, he was probably the most replaceable member.
As far as Stephen not touring the EU it sucks, but it hasn't really affected much of the tour. The guys seemed to be having the time of their lives and were really enjoying themselves when I saw them a week ago and similarly, videos from this tour show that they bring it hard most nights.
They're not breaking any time soon.
