They killed it today in Budapest. If it wasn't for some retards in the pit it would have been a perfect show honestly. Chino was in top form.

You know, with Ohms being out for nearly two years now and having recency bias put aside, I do think The Spell of Mathematics is a top-5 Deftones song.
Even in the simplicity of Steph's playing style, the way he utilizes the 9th string on that song just fits the pacing and vibe of the all around song -- with the collective track just being this perfectly encompassed 5-minutes of everything Deftones' sound represents.
Genuinely surprised that wasn't one of the songs inserted into the new live setlist.

There's a knack for second halves / bridges in general here
time to ditch the verse-chorus form, or at least develop other things more. Like the softer middle of Headless could have been moooore

Yeah they could.
Headless is still perfect to me though. Listened to this for the first time a minute last night and still think it’s their best

We're not getting a new song just fyi. It's some fake song that apparently baited the OP leaker.
Unfortunate, but Daisy Forgive Me doesn't sound like a Chino title at all in hindsight.

The only thing that convinced me it was real was the OP's credibility -- which even in a way here, is still intact since he was cleverly duped -- and then the fact that there were rumblings before that Eros' tracklist was mainly going to consist of song titles named after strippers.
I went back and watched the available recording sessions for Eros. The track here in this video: https://youtu.be/-hywI1emDHk?t=54 is still one of the darkest riffs from Steph, and I still want to hear it in its entirety.
I pretty much have accepted the fact that Eros is likely to never release at all. And I can't really be mad about it.

Saw them a couple of days ago and still played only Ohms and Genesis off this LP. Sucks they don't add any new songs. Even the only Gore track Prayers/Triangles was taken out of the setlists lately.

@Ludens that riff is from a song called Buffalo (Finger Of Death) and you can listen to the demo on YT.

Holy shit, thanks dude! I had no idea there was a full on demo for that. Some of comments seem conflicting in that it was meant for SNW, but that recording session definitely seemed Eros era and Steph didn't have the 8-string at any point for SNW.

I don't think that Eros clip is the same as Finger of Death, but definitely check out Finger of Death. There's an instrumental demo that leaked along with a bunch of other SNW demos but they also played it live once in 2004 and it's one of the darkest fucking things they ever wrote. Chino sounds like some kind of vengeful spirit on it. It's like the lost grail of Deftones songs IMO.

Probably the song that has most grown on me from this record is Genesis. It works so good as a live opener, it's fantastic.

Honestly always been one of my favorites. I was so stoked when they opened with it

Call me ungrateful but I’m pissed that these guys have so much good shit that they’re probably never going to release.
Finger of death with vocals would’ve been their meanest track - why the fuck did we end up with pink cellphone and not that?
Everything I’ve heard from the Eros sessions indicate that it would’ve been my favourite album of theirs.
Maybe we need to take Terry date hostage until he releases the files

The funniest part about Eros was Chino coming out years ago saying they matured from the content they made for that album and that it wasn't that good and all that stuff -- yet all of the demos and recording sessions seem to indicate quite a good album.
