not to mention most bands that have been around for 30 years are just putting out dogshit.

Meanwhile Deftones are aging like the finest wine

Yea, they've been an outlier. Always solid

They haven't lost their core through recognition, fame, yada-yada. They still feel legitimate and genuine.

“"Gore is better than this imo" by DivergentThinking”

Just being honest with my opinion. This is my least favorite album of theirs since Adrenaline

Bass in Ceremony would make Chi proud.

That's good because I doubt Sergio's live screaming would make him proud

This came in like a wrecking ball, grew off me for a couple months, then came roaring back. Not sure what to make of my inability to commit to the 5/5 but I will say that when this is clicking, it's the best Deftones.

“"Gore is better than this imo" Don't agree, but Gore is a great record nonetheless

Honestly, my comment has less to do about Gore’s quality and more about me wondering why this album is as acclaimed as it is. It’s still really solid, yeah, but just sounds like another latter-day Deftones record to me

A very well done latter day deftones album. Since is not even relying on chugs/ heaviness anymore..heaviness or intensity are displayed in a different manner. It s a set very well thought songs. Its obviously a take or leave thing, but they re heading 50 and I'm pleased they sound this fresh, while keeping such a strong deftones ID.

This sounds as fresh as Diamond Eyes did to me back in the day, but the feat is more impressive now considering their age and the fact that it's virtually the same approach lol

Diamond Eyes may be peak 2nd wave deftones, I love that release but this time they left the beef out imo. Bass here is also back, big and fat tho.

Yeah DE is missing some serious low end. A 9 string guitar isn't going to cut it

I wonder if he'll ever move to a techier approach. I don't want them to turn into noodly band, but just some mean riffz could do wonders here and there.
