"The last Katy Perry song I ever heard on the radio was Dark Horse and I browse pop radio a lot, nobody fucking requests her lul"

clearly not considering chained to the rhythm was huge on the radio a couple summers ago along with the calvin harris track she was on

Probably a regional thing, I'm in Florida so I guess she might not be as popular here compared to everywhere else.

Chained to the Rhythm wasn't *huge*. I think it got a big boost when she performed it at the VMA's, but that was it. I don't recall hearing Feels too much either

both were on like three or four times a day in the summer in the UK, confusing if that wasn't the case across the pond but fair enough

still amused that people in other countries still listen to the radio, i only hear it at very low volume on supermarkets and shit but i don't even notice, certainly not enough to be annoying by a particularly popular song

I always figured that when she became an Idols judge, her time as a big pop star was effectively over.

if i ever hear the radio its usually because of work or being in the car with my dad, but I assume most people are in a similar boat.

I heard Prism channeled through my neighbour's kid belting it out a few times a day. Those were dark weeks.

i feel like it could be worse, prism has a few bangers

it could have been any part of witness that wasn't chained to the rhythm

I'll take your word for it. For some reason I found 'This is how we do' made me incredibly angry.

witness also has 'swish swish' which i think is a good song, never got the hate for it tbh (music video can be annoying but who cares about MVs anymore)

Yeah this is her worst album, it has that extremely shimmery sanitized production that reeks of soullessness, and the writing is mostly bland compared to her past works.

Once again, Katy hasn't been able to deliver a sonically cohesive record. My criticism on 'Smile' ends there. Other than that, it's a collection of songs that respect the album's theme and are pleasing to listen to. It's no masterpiece, but it isn't deserving of the critical slander it got either.

Might be too soon after its release to call it a cult following, but apparently this album has a fairly decent-size fanbase outside of the mainstream.

Every time Katy perry releases an album, a metal band from Finland get lost in the woods and never found again.
