I think the whole Chernobyl schtik is a bit of a ball-and-chain for this band. Its kinda neat in a quirky way, but the cosmic destruction, eschaton and existential dread that theme most brutal tech bands strikes a way larger canvas than a poorly kept ex-soviet bloc power plant does.

I'm not satisfied with this death metal band's aesthetics

Gonna have to check their other stuff. Technical death metal isn't typically my thing but this riffs pretty hard.

Album's not on par with Gammageddon or Radiophobia for me, definitely missing the more varied songwriting and vocal versatility of these two. Production on here is very, very good though.

Yeah, I feel exactly the same about this one, unfortunately. It's like most well-rated deathcore/death metal/techno death albums around these parts: Solid but kinda generic.

The argument that says that albums like this one are outstanding just because of their execution is getting old for me, ngl.

I went in expecting death metal from the comments and got immediate deathcore lows and breakdowns tho so maybe I just was in the wrong mindset. They’re definitely good at their instruments I just haven’t really heard a deathcore album in like 5+ years I wasn’t like “this was done better in 2006” about

yeh it reminds me of retrogore/terrorvision for sure, not quite as good as the latter since the songwriting is more repetitive but still a neat tech-death/deathgrind sorta combo

Precisely Madbutcher....though the said ones are more focused on the writing....these leads are super insane....I'm awfully pleased...as non-innovative this may be....
