it's weird that this isn't on Spotify, only the re-recorded bonus tracks as the "Clayman 2020" EP, which is absolutely terrible, but what about those remastered tracks from the original. I'd like to hear those, anyone know what the deal is?

jeez guys this really can't be that bad. I feel like this is meant to be an easy gateway to metal and since the songs have already been written they get to make an easy release too.
This is not to say that I like how this band has functioned in the last 15+ years

I think the argument is they took something that was considered great by most fans, and they made it sound worse. Clayman was already a gateway album into melodic death metal, I don't think this was needed, but that's just my opinion.

A lot of what made early in flames great (and a lot of 80s and 90s metal) is that it was before the overly edited and polished pro tools era really took hold. That's not to say post 2000 music can't be authentic but modern production definitely has a sterilization effect for a lot of stuff especially when bands go overboard. Clayman was produced in the infancy of all that
