alright so my final verdict is that this is bad but I like it anyway

the following songs are either good or very fun and it's beyond discussion:

-dreamland

-your love (deja vu)

-waterfalls

-it's all so incredibly loud

-helium

Hot sugar chorus still brings the vibes hard

Plus the drop in space ghost for the breakdown chorus is so unexpected it's dope

Trying to pinpoint why people despise this more than their previous one...do people really hate waxing 90s nostalgia that much

This thing is growing on me against my will.

It's cheap summer fun; clearly meant for good times.

I can see how this direction of not being so much of an alt-j clone might be disappointing to certain people but i kind of admire how goofy and fun this is and it's definitely less cringe than their last album for it

they've basically just entirely dropped the facade of being anything other than an indie pop group with this.

wish you would drop the facade of being anything other than a dirty lil hobbit

there's something about their vocalist's delivery that makes me wanna unplug my speakers every time he voices something with mild emphasis or above, and i played that game a couple of times but it wasn't fun :[

id have to relisten to both their last albums to say for sure but it really doesn't strike me as any worse at all, and although i mildly enjoyed both of those, there was a bit too much novelty-core ecclectic for the sake of ecclectisism shit going on (especially the last one) that came off as a bit gaudy and contrived. that held them back a bit from being a band that i could ever listen to publically without feeling embarassed so yeah i for one appreciate that they trimmed the bullshit back a bit and just did something simple

they say that every time someone folds a blanket incorrectly a bad indie pop album gets 3 new plays on bandcamp

no-one knows what happens if the blanket is folded correctly
