I've had no interest in the National since, like, 2017 when Sleep Well Beast came out and they peaked before it imo. Everything new I hear ranges from boring to bad with 0 excitement. Could be a me thing, idk. On the contrary, I'm THIRSTY for new Gorguts and like everything they have ever put out, there's no really wavering in quality and they seem to never swing and miss.

If most bdm is like getting your ass kicked by a golden gloves boxer, this album feels more like getting the piss knocked out of ya by like, Bruce Lee or something. These dudes really make 99% of everyone else in genre sound like total mouthbreathers.

I love how this album just gets more brutal and fucked up as it goes along too. I turned all the lights in my studio red last night, got stoned and threw the vinyl on. It was absolutely transcendental.
