Funnily enough, I'm betting they had a brickwall limiter on every instrument, track, and the master just to reign the shit in.
Premier Guitar's latest Rig Rundown is with the main dude from TWIABPAIANLATD(?)and he said he is a producing partner in his studio with one of the guys from End. Cool.

The production might be my literal favorite thing about this

It sounds way too in your face for me. Like it’s trying hard to be gritty. I like some heavy ass production like in magrudergrind, trap them and starkweather but this feels overly layered.

Eh, why make music like this unless you're going to make it sound as bone-liquifyingly heavy as possible? That's my take, at least lol

well that means different things to different people. I love harsh tones but it doesn't hit right for some reason. I know they're using HM2's like trap them and nails. It just sounds overdone.

The only part I thought could be better was vocals. I think Brendan sounds better in counterparts than here. But musically this is tiiiight

This type of brickwall production seems like it would work on several tracks for better effect but over the course of an entire album it just turns into a play-doh pile of sounds that all feel the same.

Maybe you guys would like the EP better. Production on that one is a bit more streamlined.

I do like the EP a good bit more, but this has their best song in Sands of Sleep

I dig every song on this album except Apparition, which isn't bad its just a barn burner song. Looks like a common argument here is most of these tracks are barn burners and don't stand out. I disagree personally, this album is super consistent for the most part. Could use a little more variation like on Sands of Sleep tho I agree with that point ahrd.

I hope in the future they experiment a bit more like they did with Sands Of Sleep, buf for now this hits all the right spots

Mmm agreed. This is just what I wanted after their ep: more of the same for the most part (although the extent to which they work mathcore into their sound was a nice surprise here, plus the closer was wonderful). Next time, assuming there is a next time, I would love to see them double down on the mathyness and atmosphere.
