Just because you enjoy something doesn't mean its objectively a 5. Plenty of records out there I thoroughly enjoy but don't even cross a 3.5.

"judged over a period of time to be of the highest quality and outstanding of its kind" - the literal definition of classic (5.0)

Who actually goes by the arbitrary descriptors they have for the ratings.

5 to me = wow I love every song on this album
No other factor has any weight

^ to me, that’s just an excellent album. Superb being a cut above that as the whole work of art really hits my personal sweet spot and 5 is what vult said. That’s how I approach it anyway

yeah i see anything from 3.5-4.5 as something I definitely enjoy all or the majority of. a 5 is an example of something I expect 10 years from now will still be something I completely love front to back and still stands up when compared to contemporaries, even considering future shifts in music trends.

3.5-4.5 is also enjoyable all the way or mostly through, yes, I agree
There is a massive leap from every song on this album is enjoyable, to I LOVE everything on this album. I've never felt a need to assign any other context to my ratings because I already come across very very few albums I find worth a 5. Plus, the state of music as a whole when album X released and any potential influence it had on proceeding music has just never really influenced my opinion on said album.
As for the personal sweet spot, that's what would make me LOVE every song of an album in the first place. Depending on what exactly you mean by that, I guess.

Well that's the thing with subjectiveness - there are a lot of variable elements that may draw someone to "love" something versus just "liking or enjoying" it. i.e. personal connection to lyrics/instrumentals, current life situation, if you have a connection with another person through the album, etc. Ratings on albums really should fall into the normal bellcurve where the majority of albums fall under 2.0-4.5, with the minority being 5's and 1's. "Perfect" albums should be few and far between, and same with 1's.
I have like 9 albums rated at 5, with 3 artists/bands having two albums each at 5. the vast majority fall between 2.5-4.5. I dont purposely seek out or rate terrible albums because frankly I'm not going to rate something I dont listen to, and I dont actively take the time to listen to bad music. I'll only 1-2 something if I went into it unbiased and came out not liking it.

I think this is good but the replay value isn't there tbh

I'm not super into this band but I heard a single from this and it was enjoyable.
However I just want to extend mad praise to the drummer for continuing to play despite losing his leg, seriously that's badass.
