Some of the elitism here is almost as cringe as the intro to this album.
I also don't like playing on my mind anymore. Like at all. Very flat to me and unrelatable. Eh

Playing on My Mind hits kinda hard for me

"'climate change girl hurts me feels'"
No man climate change is a veey important issue and I wish I was half as confident as Greta, but the opener just feels more like the band wanking themselves off about how great people they are than an actual song or an intro track

If you're gonna open your album with a speech from an actual activist who is very serious about extremely pressing issues perhaps it's in poor taste to then make the rest of your album the exact same headassed pontificating on 'society, maaan' you've always made

Yet you still got it at a four?? There's like three actually good songs here. Too shy, Me & you, and Guys. I loved the three before this, but man this album is a chore. Wish they could rein back in the "artistic expression" a bit, because they really are talented in my eyes.

Massive step backwards from their last album

I’ve always thought this was their best album. And it’s not even close

after sitting with it for a while, I think this is a very solid album that I think will probably be seen as more of a stepping stone after whatever we get for the next album, which will probably be more honed (well...as honed as The 1975 can be). I think I'd take it over their s/t unless we're talking the s/t deluxe because the EPs have some incredible songs

I still think their sophomore is their best. Well rounded, not too bloated, enough of something for everyone.
This has some really good stuff, but it also has a lot of filler imo

Uselessness in a pristine package.
Choke on it slags.

their sophomore is their best [2] i get why people prefer ABIIOR as its shorter and more "cohesive" but I just think ILIWYS has their best and most successful moments of genre-hopping. i think it sorta falls apart at the end - Nana and She Lays Down are sweet tunes, but ultimately ineffective as closers but everything else before that is pretty admirable

The 1975 is the Michael Buble of people who think Weezer is a respiratory condition
