I wish the vinyl wasn't a fat £17 shipping for the UK and only available on their bandcamp or would be bought day 1

All those 4.5's and no 5's yet? Looks weird.
Also, album cover of the year for me too, tied with Ulcerate.

Only Other gave me big vibes of Darren Korb's Pyre soundtrack. Especially Downside Ballad.

hype for this, and gr8 write up as expected

I skipped Endless Light because the singles put me off. Halogen Eye has my interest again.

This is good. I personally prefer this slow, dreamy direction to their previous sound. But there's also something a bit off on first listen, not sure what it is but it might be the production, like it's too compressed or something. Anyway it's a nice album to listen when you need to unwind.

I have never swam in the ebb and flow before
I'm looking forward to this

Also good review Johnny! The pokemon mention made me chuckle
I wish I'd kept up with pokemon post-gen iv, as I'm sure the ever more tenuous type combinations provide a wealth of metaphor opportunities, as you seem to have exploited

This album just feels so stale compared to the constantly refreshing material they've made over the past decade. It's not bad by any means, but I feel like You and I is gonna end up being much less memorable than the band's previous work.

Could not disagree more tbh, felt their previous work got less refreshing with each instalment
Lol cheers Ben, can't hold back the pokereferences ;] Post-gen IV does kinda blow, but I feel the gen VI starters are prime for a lot of niche memes

Apparently sword/shield is very good, I just can't keep up with/afford to shell out for the hardware post-original DS!

Love these guys unconditionally. But needs more HEAVY to offset the somewhat over-indulgent atmospheric meditations.
