Weakest track on the album but still good enough

"What if every song was Dying in Your Arms?" - Extremely reductive description of trivium these days.

Remember the radio version of Dying in Your Arms which replaced the harsh vocal section with cleans? That was a bit pointless hehe

Always thought that song was super catchy. The radio version does suck though

Any time any band does that the cleans are always fucking terrible too lol

yeah those cleans are meh

I always assumed Dying in your Arms was something the label asked for. Stuck out like a sore thumb on the album and was all around kind of embarrassing

Maybe it was, maybe it wasn't. All I knew is I liked it.

Labels were still influential at the time and roadrunner especially would ask for singles or edit out all the harsh vocals from singles routinely. I remember they even edited out the 2 seconds of harsh vocals in the 36CF Bloodwork video

I always liked Dying In Your Arms tbh, even though it feels out of place today. It got me deeper into this band

I will never get over that bloodwork video. Could have been the song that put 36CF over. Brock sounds fucking great in it. Instead some genius decides Julia from Fuse needs to be all over this comic book trash video for a song about self-medicating. That band wasn't incredible or anything, but I don't think they ever really got their due. And they are still around, too.

Pre-Alex Bent Trivium is a tough listen after getting so used to his drumming on the newer albums.
Actually I take that back Travis’s stuff still holds up even if he struggled to replicate those parts live

Travis' stuff was so enjoyable. Alex is so good as well. On The Sin they wrote some great songs. Here ... not so much. Hope the next one gets better.
watched a stream of Matt singing and playing this album. some red flags of bad singing habits, I don't think the guy who teaches him is that amazing tbh. Matt got some basics now, which is an improvement, but also some nonsensical stuff like sticking out his tongue and getting on his toes for higher notes.

yeah, singing on that streaming could be improved

Travis was cool, but Alex is next level.
Just checked an old live vid, and yeah. Travis definitely struggled live, or at least did on the show I saw.
