It's all opinion-based with this stuff. Do you like what you hear or don't you?

"Yeah, I don't get the problem with the vocals. This is more tolerable than the singing on Intronaut's last album and I didn't see anyone complaining about that one"

people were tho? in both the album thread and every single they dropped lol

The reason I specifically say Megadeth is that whenever someone criticizes Mustaine's vox everyone always says "it doesn't matter if the singing is bad because something something riffs", and idgaf if that's your take but if you're going to then turn around and say the vocals here ruin the whole album you look like a hypocrite, especially if you dont offer any further explanation.

I don't think the vocals are horrible. They're just a noticeable detractor.

Mustaine and Billy Corgan have objectively ugly singing voices but they are also unique and charismatic. The vocals on this and Intronaut's album just tend to sound like your mate's decent but unspectacular cover band. Back when the vocals were doused in reverb they were at least more atmospheric and mysterious, but because they're so high and dry in the mix the lack of character is painfully obvious. Thankfully it doesn't detract from the music too much, but it doesn't add much either.

Agree the lack of character is the biggest issue here, dude can hit the notes but he just sounds a bit boring doing so

Embers is such a jam. I'm finding a lot of the vocal melodies on this album getting stuck in my head.

This isn’t as good as the previous output, but still top-notch cruising music.
