Wereworm’s Feast is a great song. It has that 80/90s thrash vibe to it, and the lyrics are about being transformed into a fucking worm. They may be “the most consistent band in metal” but I feel like the amount of tribute that they pay to different styles keeps them growing in interesting ways. It’s crazy to think that I’ve enjoyed listening to this band for 17 goddamn years now. Like, I can mark events in my life by TBDM album releases.

That's my favourite too, and the closer. This album has really grown on me

This one is finally catchier than most of their other stuff. Great album

I'm enjoying it for that reason too. It feels like the album that should have come out after Everblack.

Everblack was my favorite album after Nocturnal, and yea this definitely feels like a sequel.

In my mind their albums can be broken down (thematically, not chronologically) into three trilogies: Unhallowed/Miasma/Nocturnal, Deflorate/Abysmal/Nightbringers, Ritual/Everblack/Verminous.

It's way outside what they usually do, I thought it was a guest solo for a sec. I'm too used to hearing diminished runs and shit in their guitar solos, and this was a nice change.

Took a while to grow on me but I'm surprised to see this rated so low in their discography.

Child of Night is nice, but the other songs didn't grab me the same way.

It does take a minute to grow on you, but over the last two days my opinion is that Child of The Night, The Wereworm’s Feast, Sunless Empire, The Leather Apron’s Scorn, and Removal of The Oaken Stake are fucking top-tier Black Dahlia Murder.

This hasn't grasped me as much as Nightbringers, but god damn, some of those riffs are thicker than a bag of cement

as usual, I enjoy this band but I really struggle to like them beyond that point, their melodic edge rubs me in the wrong way, as with most metal anyways

is something wrong with me guys?

Not enough love for godlessly by the way, but this album is definitely a grower and much better than initially imo.
