I will have a Black Love review up soon, honest. I'm just having a bit of writer's block at the minute. I'm hoping to have The Holy Bible (Manic Street Preachers) done tonight, then I'll crack on with Black Love.[/QUOTE]
Nearly three months ago to the day, in your Gentlemen review. ;)

Not a criticism Iai, just something I noticed. Good review once again. I think I'm going to check out Gentlemen soon.

Once I heard that the Afghan Whigs were reuniting I immediately gave this a listen. It\'s a great album and I love it\'s dark jazziness yet it goes threw a few boring stretches. This Message Edited On 09.11.06

Namely "Brother Woodrow". But that's a 3-star track where everything else is 5-star so y'know.

I bought this album on the back of this review, and it is one of my favorites ever now. I cannot thank you enough. I think Brother woodrow/closing prayer is fucking awesome, my favourite 5 minute plus rock instrumental not found on quadrophenia

But once again, thanks Iai

Ive got a shitload of records, tapes and cds, and this one somehow slipped me by, I only heard it for the first time a couple of weeks ago and bought it today.
Bloody awesome. Power, emotion, great angular musicality and teenage angst one notch more serious than violent femmes and way more interesting than nirvana. Definitely one of my top 10 albums of all time - already.

Finally got around to listening to this. Can't say I'm overly-impressed, but it is a strong album nonetheless. Glad I listened to; I'm sure I'll look at their other albums later on.
