thanks chambered appreciate it, doing quite well and hope you are too!

gonna start this at a 3.5, just feels right. could grow on me, but probably won't lower my score no matter what.

early favorites: eternal summer, adults, not the same anymore, mets

This is very uneven but Julien's vocals are outstanding on this. He really lets himself go off and finally show off his vocal talent aside from just sounding cool. God damn is the end of Ode to the Mets transcendent.

Some people need to buy themselves a pair of ears... This is excellent! The sound shift that started with Angles has reached full maturity, and guys, it is GOOD and addictive! (Unlike what happened to Arctic Monkeys after their first 3 albums...)

Notice how Eternal Summer is a straight-up homage to Pink Floyd (think Roger Waters' vocals on the Animals album, with the slow funky guitar and bass synergy). Well played boys!

Edit: funny that someone mentioned The Clash, but I'm pretty sure it's Pink Floyd. Who knows, maybe both?

I skipped all of the singles to digest this thing all at once. Halfway through my first spin last night, I wasn't too sure I was falling in love. Once I finished that first listen, I couldn't wait to start it over from the top. This thing is so delicately put together and flows amazingly and has great dynamics and songs and I'm just so happy right now.

@Artax - I get Pink Floyd vibes a few different times on this album. Just another thing to love!

Yea guess sowing is behind, probably about the same age as him but been listening to the strokes for over a decade and a half, to each their own.
