I wish they'd remix Rescue & Restore by someone who can actually mix, the production is one of the parts that makes it a lesser version of FiFAP for me. Both records are really close, FiFAP just sounds a little more focussed to me.

They've had the same mix team since R&R, they just try mild changes each time they go back in.

yes, although R&R and PA sounded way more digital than FiFAP

nah, don't really like how the drums sounds, bass is a lil too mid/treble heavy too

I like it, but I can understand the mid and treble complaint if you're sensitive to those ranges. I'm not remotely treble sensitive and actually enjoy it a bit elevated.

The album went in one ear and out the other in a matter of days.
Love this band, but the newer records have less and less staying power.

I'd have to agree ^. I like ABR but l don't like them as much as l used to

I went back and listened to Rescue & Restore today. Definitely a good album with some extremely stand out moments (looking at you Spirit Breaker).
I actually think Guardians is pretty damn good but I guess I would agree that it's lacking some of those amazing, stand out moments that some of their previous albums had. Still a solid record with some banging riffs though.

I seem to really like a different ABR than most people. This to me is their 2nd best record so far after Messengers

And I dislike Messengers too so yeah there's definitely two sides to this band that people may or may not be into
|

I dig their first 3 and some of R&R, the rest I can’t get into.

Messengers > R&R
