also embrace me/erase me + their demo. honestly everything this band did pre-I Was King was such a breath of fucking fresh air considering the awkward pre-and-post 2010s hardcore scene. they really truly had it in them to produce an absolute classic but chose this route.
can't knock the hustle, can certainly knock the wardrobe choice tho

That new track is just beyond awful, like a much worse Spineshank (which sums up a lot of this album, too).

I Am King isn’t even that bad either, but yeah the decline def started there.
And ya that Full of Hell split fucking shreds

I Was King is def solid, thanks Kurt, but like u said the slip began there. think they just hit that fork in the road between that 3 year period from this to forever and had to make a serious decision as a band. which i respect.
i just can't help but wonder what could've been. they legitimately were on top of the hxc scene after king was released

Yeah people look back on I Am King as a generic hardcore record but if you look at the views the album and singles did on Deathwish’s yt channel it still did really well for the band and generated a lot of hype for them

im gonna be honest i kinda hated it at release, but i think it was moreso i was upset about their shift in sound. i also think around that time, hxc was so oversaturated with bands of the same generic leaning that i was just over it. think that's why bands like harm's way, jesus piece etc started injecting "industrial" into their music

It's really interesting how many people jump ship after each release while simultaneously gaining new fans, so it ends up evening out for the band. Never really seen that before.
We'll see if that trend continues with their next album

How dare you name the great Spineshank in the same sentence as this band.
Also I have no idea at all how you arrived at that comparison.

Back Inside the Glass has been released. Best setlist they could’ve picked.

I’ll probably actually watch this. The few times I’ve seen them live they were pretty sick.

I’m still amazed at how ambitious this is. This is genuinely one of the most strangely fascinating records in heavy music to me

I feel like people give this album so much shit undeservedly, this and Harm's Way Posthuman, which is odd since they are both from 2 bands that used to be pretty heavy Harcore, and then both chose to go a more industrial/hardcore sound, this is sick all im gonna say

Saw these guys live on Saturday in Boston and holy shit what a show. Non-stop energy and rad visuals, even got the mic for Swallowing the Rabbit Whole right before the breakdown hits. Dying Wish and Loathe were also awesome live, and it was so cool to see the members of both bands stage dive into the audience. After the show I got selfies with Jami and Joe and bumped fists with some of the members of DW and Loathe. Top 5 concert experience for sure

I’m sure it was a good time. I saw them headline once but can’t for the life of me remember when it was, and saw them open for Deftones lol
They killed it both times, I’m not a huge fan obv but if they hit my city again I’d definitely go
