Definitely prefer Ben in every way, but Marcus is very solid. He did much better on this album that I thought he would, so props to him and the band for a pretty painless integration.

it's very impressive how he was able to get right into the flow of the band very quickly, sets a good baseline for future albums with him no doubt

I wouldn't say very quickly, this album did take like 2 and a half years to make lol. But it is good to hear how well he did on his first album in the band, I'm forever glad that they didn't go the Erra/Northlane route with a new vocalist that sucks hard compared to the original

Agreed. Hope they get back on the normal 2 year album cycle and continue to improve on this now that they've replaced Ben. Just keep this lineup and get back on track with releasing fucking awesome jams!

I’m feeling about how I expected to feel after first listen. Some moments give me the biggest smile on my face and some I’m losing interest. Overall enjoying it though, will definitely keep listening to see if it grows on me. Highlights are Dark, Shapeshifter, Monarch, Brightwing and Nova for me.

quickly as in it took only one album to find his place among the band in their sound

Oh yea for sure, I'm glad the first album with him wasn't a fumble

"The stretch from Shapeshifter to Secret Sun is sooooo fuckin good"

I'd extend that to Brightwing, that's a dummy good run

Whole thing is pretty rad, but I really like that stretch too. Heaven, Alone into Monarch is a really cool moment.

Impossible to replace Ben, but Marcus is the next best fit for this band

Stillworld still reigns supreme
