It reminds me of Clarity-era Jimmy Eat World, honestly - maybe also early American Football and The World is a Beautiful Place and I Am No Longer Afraid to Die...

sometimes it sounds like the guitars are playing lots of "off" notes just to sound discordant and weird. kinda prevents me from really getting into it and buying the melodies. but overall there's not much to complain about here, these guys have potential. they sound like a lot of the DIY bands that play house shows in my city lol

I hadn't listened to much American Football until a few months back, maybe that's what it's reminding me of. And Jimmy is always a good listen, of course.

Yeah Funny is just gorgeous, love the vocal melody

It's funny though (no pun intended) because as the opener it's kind of misleading. This is much heavier, riffy, and discordant than that track lets on.

It's not catchy or overproduced if that's what you mean. It's just really good indie rock that prioritizes the guitar work over vocal hooks.
