Honestly, people do not take line-up changes well do they.

once you have the same drummer for more than 10 years, the absence of his style would be noticeable

Certainly. Although the criticism currently being directed towards Rundinger seem to be grounded more so in the fact that he's replacing a former member, than his supposedly inferior drumming abilities.

"Honestly, people do not take line-up changes well do they."
Depends on the band.

"Honestly, people do not take line-up changes well do they."
While that's true, it's also (usually) perfectly reasonable. Popular and/or great bands become popular and/or great due to the synergy of the members and it's very rare that replacing a ember of a band with already great synergy improves said synergy immediately, unless the great band was starting to already flounder from a loss of synergy and creativity amongst members.
That's why supergroups are generally a shit show regardless of the talents of the constituent members.

Synergy problems aside, I can still appreciate Rudinger's performance on this record. The man is known for performing more than admirably, especially considering he often plays for bands he hasn't been an integral part of for a prolonged period of time.
Certainly, the line-up changes don't detract too much from the record's quality I feel, especially considering just how proficient a drummer Rundinger is and how well he performs on this record.
P.S. Rudinger has also played for bands like Obscura, Revocation etc. The guy gets around.

The instrumentation on this album is superb but man do the vocals ruin it for me. At times he sounds like the singer of some shitty hard rock band like Puddle of Mudd and it just takes me out of anything they were doing interesting instrumentally

yea i'll agree with the vocals bring it down a notch. the instrumentals are straight up ear candy while the vocals are not terrible but theres just nothing interesting about them.

Alex does a fine job, but you can tell he's filling a lot of empty space with just notes, as opposed to well constructed rhythms that help elevate the songs.
Which Danny could do with ease

Got the transcripts for Rudinger’s playing on this. He’s got some pretty cool parts in here but jesus that stack cymbal he uses sounds so out of place.
