It is, but it fits the style and mood. The dynamics (sound- and production-wise) where much more present on DSS, where in correspondence the album was much more contemplative

this is my first full Envy album for some reason (yeah I know I need to hear Dead Sinking Story and All the Footprints) and it's growing on me like crazy. The dynamics here are just masterful...and I actually like the production a lot

Could be my album of the year already, didn't expect this from a band I had never even heard of until a few days ago. Best random click in a while.

Still wild to think so many people here haven’t jammed one of the screamo/post rock kings before this. But really glad it’s opening people up to them

This is easily their best work in 15+ years, not to mention the best skramz record I've heard in ages. Need this on vinyl

Running through this thing for the first time. This is a lot to unpack, but I already fucking love it. I need to scour their backcatalog, what the HELL have I been missing?

All these envy newbs this is surreal

Lotta great skramz revival past 2-3 years.

“This is easily their best work in 15+ years”
Whoa let’s not get ahead of ourselves now!!

not better than DSS and Footprints but that absolutely doesnt take anything away from this album. to get an envy album this great, this late in their career, and after this much waiting, member changes and accusations of late career mediocrity and stagnation, i cant say that im anything less than satisfied.

not an Envy newb but haven't listened to them in a long while admittedly.

Oh I’m not complaining. I just think it’s weird how many people commenting are hearing them for the first time despite them being a sput darling back in the day. I guess a lot of classic screamo/post-hardcore has yet to be unearthed by some of the newer

when they were in their heyday I was a dumb child and was like "but why are there so few lyrics and also it's in japanese"
when I got more open minded to those things, they had started to stagnate, so I kinda forgot about them, especially with all the other good skramz around
and now here we are
