Do they have to keep acting like it's not a troll or they can get sued by the label?? It's the only thing that explains it.

Yup. That's why they're acting so ridiculous. That billboard, the coke-induced rant in the lead single's YouTube description, everything is so obviously hamfisted. It's hilarious and I'm here for every minute of it.

They have to create ‘viable product’
The record company suits aren’t mugs and the band sold their souls a long, long, long time ago.
They’ve basically produced a turd album. It’s that turd that people believe the band are ‘trolling’

ngl, i heard meet me on the roof and thought it was decent. indistinguishable from old green day entirely, a bit on the annoyingly catchy side, but definitely not terrible. idk, maybe i just get exposed to infinitely shittier radio pop than you guys

I fucking knew you would say something about this being good when i saw your name on the main page.

i didn't call this good, i haven't heard anything other than that single. and that's strange considering how critical of pop punk music i usually am. i mean, i'm pretty far from a green day fan

it's called subjectivity, something you have none of since you just agree with whatever everyone else says all the time

Excuse me, I said no. All right, is this going to get ugly? Because you put it down now or else something ugly happens. Do you understand? You stop now. I'm serious, I'm deadly serious

I haven't followed this band since the 90's, and I was never a big fan of AI, but damn what the fuck happened here?

"ngl, i heard meet me on the roof and thought it was decent. indistinguishable from old green day entirely, a bit on the annoyingly catchy side, but definitely not terrible. idk, maybe i just get exposed to infinitely shittier radio pop than you guys"
The terribleness here is its sustained half-arsedness imo - most of the tracks are inoffensive in isolation, but then you get the whole lot and end up thinking *were they really serious about this?*
Definitely not the worst I've heard, but also my 2s are generally for well-crafted albums I despise or terrible albums with bits I actively enjoy, so I'd feel awkward bumping this since it's neither of those

John I don’t want to massage your ego but you have genuinely created a better album than Green Day
