Sorry I didn't end up using the engorged testicle line, ana. It was in the first draft, honest.

Doof, my membership expired a decade ago and I haven't bothered renewing. Think I last saw it in a drawer next to an unused pizza hut coupon from December 2009.

Bot, you've always been there for me.

Apart from "The Raven" this really didn't do much for me.

Doof, take comfort in the fact you and yours are in the majority when it comes to this

But we anti-fun goblins know the truth.

Kompys, there's better stuff.

Spot on about The Raven btw

Beginning to think that Sandwich secretly really likes this and is just playing devils advocate to get one of us zealots to write a rip roaring review

Damn, there's just an itty-bitty bit too much space above it.

So close.

Anyway, hope you all enjoy this forum to discuss the album, 5 days too late and after everyone's already talked about it.

One thing about this album...I still think 'Sky's Grey' is better than any song here

'I was working on the new Oliver Twist...sky's grey' is an all time favourite lyric, even before he explained it in interview.

It's perfect - for a split second you think 'actually, you COULD update Oliver Twist why not? could be great' but then you realise it's a fool's errand, totally misguided and ultimately a doomed enterprise...then back to the flat (non emotional) 'sky's grey'.

I'd say this is just about his best since Kaputt but honestly there's only a gnat's twat between the last three.

This one sounds the best - but song writing, lyrics and even vocal delivery I can't agree this one is significantly better....or indeed better at all. It could even be slightly weaker than those two in some regards.

Doof's opinions on albums by Destroyer, Lambchop, and Tindersticks must first be tempered down to an unbiased level of genpop normalcy.

actually enjoying albums by a band equals bias

I must 5 rate albums by artists as culturally significant and critically beyond reproach as Bjork and King Crimson only
