I'm really confused; I'm not understanding the hype on this album (reddit is head over heels with this rn). You can't be more generic than this collection of songs. They know how to do it yeah, but the last 2 albums were way better.

I think this is a perfectly serviceable album but I agree it's a bit generic as far as post rock goes and the hype makes little sense to me, but then albums are routinely hyped on here that I find boring as hell

Gyro, I really urge you to check out If We Get There One Day by Leech. It's post-rock with some electronic shizzle mixed in, and it definitely doesn't sound like one of those bazillion mono/if these trees could talk clones. Probably my favourite instrumental post-rock from last decade.

Cool, thanks for the rec. I think this is a good album with some enjoyable moments, but it does feel like a dime a dozen. Most of the best post-rock I've heard has been from the 2000s, stuff like Yndi Halda's Enjoy Eternal Bliss

Dust and Disquiet was, to me, an incredibly bland and autopilot-y album so I’m inclined to believe y’all that they are on that path. But also there’s a bunch of folks in here saying this album is great. The anticipation is killing me

If you think D&D was on autopilot you are gonna hate this one.
