The auto tune absolutely ruins Lost for me.
And yes Afterlife and Brompton Cocktail are two of their best songs, shame theyre stuck on such a shitty album. Uneven doesn’t even begin to describe that record.

The guitar leads in Lost are so damn catchy

it would be a great track if it weren’t for the chorus.
I honestly have no idea why the band thought that was a good idea.

so no descriptions of the actual music?

"Avenged Sevenfold have been jumping trends in rock and metal music for over a decade,"
Disagree with this take. Outside of this album and SOTST I feel like they've always had their own sound. Like what other bands were making albums like COE or the S/T in the mid-late 2000s or even The Stage a couple years ago that constitutes calling them trend hoppers?

at least you mention that Arin was actually a talented drummer

The whole review is describing the music. I didn't dissect each individual song because that would be tedious. Anyone who's heard Metallica and Iron Maiden before know what I'm saying is correct.
The s/t and Nightmare are pretty unoriginal too imo, not completely but they get pretty derivative. Can't speak to The Stage since I haven't heard it.

Gunslinger and Dear God aren't that great tbh
Some of my favorites are Not Ready to Die, Save Me, Scream, Bat Country, Beast and the Harlot, Strength of the World, M.I.A., Lost, and even God Hates Us is a guilty pleasure Pantera rip-off track that I used to listen to all the time.

Not Ready To Die should’ve been on an album. That song is easily one of their top 5
