One of the rumours is there’s two games: a reboot and a telltales type game though. The telltale idea is such a fucking bad idea it has me worried who we’re dealing with here, coming up with shite like that haha

I don't think bringing back the original team (or some of them) into the new project is necessarily gonna work. SH is 20 years old, games have changed a lot since early 2000's.

Getting Yamaoka would be dope as heck, tho.

Sounds fucking horrific, and not the good kind. Silent hill isn’t a story-driven game, it’s a gameplay experience that consumes you. Sh2 has a masterpiece of a story behind it, but it’s only as good as the game that goes with it. Some fucked up, linear story with branching scenarios sounds like something a western dev team would cook up, and would ultimately send the series back to its downward standards again.



We need a competent Japanese dev team who understands both psychological horror and the series’ roots, not a bunch of hacks who put pyramid head in their games coz he “looks cool”

Reminds me of how they put Pyramid Head in that weird Silent Hill movie just because I don't think they knew who to have as the villain (although the part where he literally rips the skin off that person was admittedly very well done)

The development story behind the SH movie is interesting: the biggest reason they included so many SH2 monsters was because they REALLY wanted to make a SH2 film. They understood that the origin story of Alyssa needed to be realised, but wanted to bring in elements from SH2 - even to the point of casting Sean Bean, who they felt would have made a perfect James.

After Konami cancelled Silent Hills and messed SH2 & 3, a new *good* SH game will always be a mirage. If it doesn't get cancelled meanwhile, I expect some kind of Alan Wake meets The Walking Dead.
