Pleasantly surprised by this, had kind of given up on them but the first half is really nice. Arabesque is fucking sick

What a return to form. Couldn't be happier with how this turned out.

I mean the double album idea was genius because I rated each side 1.0 but together they added up to a respectable 2.0

Yep, I thought Strawberry Swing was their worst song ever, but Cry Cry Cry makes it sound like God Put a Smile.

I feel "Masterpiece" is a bit of a stretch, but it's certainly their best in a while.

BLOOD ON THE BEACH

OH MY GOODNESS THERE IS BLOOD ON THE BEACH

Fortunately the music more than makes up for it.

Oh, the masterpiece thing is a running joke. This is an awesome album but it's not perfect.

Also, it's "blood on the beat"

Sowing coming in hot with that 4.5! I wish I could care about Coldplay like I used to. I was ready to hear something as gorgeous and exciting as Viva again but this is just a snooze.

I'm sure my rating is just as hysterically inflated as Coldplay's music was on Mylo Xyloto, but this is just "one of those bands" for me where I give myself a free pass...kind of like Yellowcard or Taylor Swift. I realize they're not 4.5 talented but I enjoy the hell out of them.

This is definitely not as good as VLV, but it's the best since then. I didn't believe them one bit when they drummed up the new album as "experimental", but for them, it really kind of is. I could listen to 'Arabesque' and 'Trouble in Town' on repeat and across the other 14 tracks there's only a couple duds. The rest ranges from solid to great.

Not a fan of Arabesque so don't think there's much point listening for me, but it's good to see these guys doing something people are enjoying. :3

Honestly kind of stoked to hear this especially for the first half
Just re-listened to Rush of Blood the other night and it reignited a bit of interest in the band for me
