Esoteric are pretty darn unique within the Funeral Doom sphere. The only similar record I could think of is maybe Voidwards by Dolorian

Forgot to comment that the increasingly frenetic middle section of Consuming Lies absolutely slays me. Heard it for the first time in a while the other day and the hair on the back of my neck was standing up hard m/.

yeah...so happy to hear that, track one is a true beast and damn beautiful...but those 2 tracks towards the end, Consuming Lies and Culmination have these awesome build ups to completely savage climaxes, still honestly feel like my feet slip from ground, still makes me one want to scream along....WRAAAAAA
I think some fans of FuneralDoom prob don't dig that much, but it works as a mofo for me.
I also don't know the band's discog...my rating comes exclusively from my experience with the album and in the genre, so I feel when you say " but it's the first doom album to really wow me."
