"oh it's absolutely album of the year, no question. sadly when i review anything i just get neg'd to hell so i stopped bothering."

Well, it's up to Nocte's 4.5 rev then...I'll come back to it on the right thread.

Put this on the digs.

cool to see a review for this, pos'd dude! I am a tad surprised how much I am enjoying this, as I never was really able to get into much outside of the Legend EP and Shadow of a Thousand Suns, but this is realllllly solid. I could see my rating going up. Ever so Bold is the jam

Thanks man. I've never had a chance to get to know these guys deeply until a few days ago, in fact, I even thought they were a deathcore band. Ever so Bold is indeed a killer jam, Black Wave's ending is also epic.

@Tyler yeah I hear you dude, i don't think it's really reinventing any wheels, but what it does have going for it is really great songwriting and production. I enjoy how big it all sounds with an almost wall of sound of blastbeats and melodic trems, but still manages to be really captivating and shifts through a lot of really effective parts pretty seamlessly. It's dark and brooding at times, and then really uplifting in others, but without going into that certain type of annoying blackgaze territory. Just a really solid output IMO.

Noctus/Nocte...we are still waiting for an Esoteric rev...

There's a possibility that if we do this we'll cancel each other out and cause another sput-crash

Yeah my drop down rating menu got stuck on the 2 rating for a while - but better music gets a better rating. I think I had it 4'd at some stage, but I've had the promo almost 2 months before the release and it's a nice settling score.

It's interesting that the album ends up in a crescendo, without guitar.

What was that other melodic black metal album to come out of nowhere last year? Band was called Skullhunter or some shit, I can't remember.

Lemon's favourite album of all time basically, help me out people
