I was referring to their own mentality of thinking themselves as chads. It seems to be common with Blood Incantation haters

For example, look at the string of comments under the initial comment “The new Blood Incantation sounds great”

wild how Blood Incantation went from one of the most "elite" demo bands of the 2010s to now being poser soy metal in the eyes of the same dudes.

altho i don't believe it is the same dudes bc anyone who knows anything about death metal wouldn't be such a fucking pussy to be offended by BI's rising popularity

funny how people still try to make the idea of "old school" death metal "revival" being a thing even though death metal as a genre fundamentally hasn't really changed at all since its inception, the only death metal bands that aren't "old school revivalists" are bands playing stuff like slam, tech death, prog, etc. bc let's face it: plain death metal has never changed, and I think that's actually kinda weirdly admirable considering how many face-name genres tend to change wildly over the years. i mean plain metalcore doesn't sound the same as it did 30 years ago? but plain death metal? it was never changed, it was never revived, it was literally just always there. it's crazy

"Define "soy" metal for me Snox."

I wouldn't have a clue, I have no idea why people are calling BI soy metal. are they outspokenly politically left wing? I know the members are probs pretty left wing, but I don't think as a band they're super public online or politically. it seems random internet chuds have decided to hate BI because they're popular and not really "problematic" politically? i have no clue

why would I be kidding, in what way has regular death metal changed since the 80s or 90s? and you can't list examples of prog stuff or brutal/slam or tech stuff (which I would argue hasn't really changed since the late 90s/00s at this point either, tbh)

Some people cite the early 00s as the time dm lost its popularity and then from 2005 onwards is when it was "revived" BUT there are enough classic and regular dm albums from the years of 2000-2005 that that argument never really sat right with me. i mean the argument could be made that it's only the idea of popularity of the style that separates "OS"DM from "revival" stuff, but who the fuck cares about popularity, the revival stuff at this point existed longer than the original "OS"DM

so anyway essentially my argument here is that there was never a "new school" of dm, unless of course you're counting subgenres, which I think would ONLY count if the "old school" stuff stopped existing, but it didn't. it never stopped. there is literally no bridge between when old school died and when old school revival happened.

@snox bro.

So I'm feeling there's a "flavour of the month" feel to finding ways to hate on a particular sound group. All this left wing talk sounds like hipster attitude finding any excuse to shy away from liking what "makes sense" to be liked. Whether or not that fits the convention of some perceived "I need to think this way" thought process.
