Yeah idk the praise for this one eludes me. This just isn't the Blood Incantation I love.

haven't listened to Starspawn in a while, but I'd say the biggest difference between the two albums is the production, not much else

I found this one to be a lot more accessible songwriting and riff-wise personally. I can understand the contrast

Yeah, this one just feels more open and yeah, accessible for lack of a better word. I think of this as more or a chunky riff salad as opposed to Starspawn's spacier, more adventurous compositional style. It just felt *bigger*.

I mean I still have this at a 4 so I think it bangs

I just was taken aback by how much better I found Starspawn when Iistened to them back to back. In my head I knew I liked Starspawn better but I didn't realise how much so until then. Seems like a stark difference now.

The voice of reason. This is still thoroughly enjoyable but given my expectations were stratospheric, I am a tiny bit disappointed.

Gallantin is uncomfortably forward with his opinions, but I think in essence I agree. This album made me realize how great Starspawn actually is.

many of the riffs in the second half of the closer sound like riffs Chuck would have wrote

Amazing album but I wish it was a little longer. They could have easily expanded more.

Gallantin has a solid point. Starspawn definitely sounds more cavernous and atmospheric.

Nope, they paid the artist to use the original artwork. Agony stole and edited the original art.
