I guess I should really watch season 3 again. I never finished it, but until that point Hannibal had become one of my favourite shows. It wasn't that s3 wasn't good, I think I just needed a break from the depressive atmosphere for a minute and just never got around to coming back. Mads is indeed a top tier actor.
One thing that really irked me with s3 tho...

I didn't even notice it was a new actor for the first few episodes, I guess mostly cause *spoiler* the character has half a reconstructed face.

Season 3 is a bit patchy but overall the Red Dragon storyline is exceptional and the series finale is pretty great

Maybe it's because the Red Dragon storyline followed the movie to the letter that I found myself getting somewhat bored of it. I wanted more Hannibal than Red Dragon. And yeah Mads is a phenomenal actor. You guys should check out his other stuff - The Hunt in particular was really good.
