It's close for me, I think Five Leaves Left is probably marginally better.

Remember the moment when I played "Poor Boy" on my turntable to my Jazz musician friend -- indeed, he was astonished, in a good way. "Poor Boy" consisted the elements of Folk, Jazz, Gospel, and even classical. Nothing was sounded like this back in that time, nowadays as well. Nick produced music in his own sense, own way, and that's what made every piece of it like a precious discovery.

Huge drop in quality from his first album. This is some awful jazzy folk-pop aka Elevator music. Bryter Layter is overly produced with too much instrumentation, and unnecessary arrangements. The flutes are annoying, the drumming is pointless, the sax is puke-worthy, and the piano playing is taken straight out of a cocktail lounge. The cheesiness of this album is seriously off the charts. It's no wonder he went solo for his final album.

Title track, Fly, and Poor Boy are the worst offenders. The latter drags out for 6 minutes with that horrible chorus and those awful backing vocals.

Poor Boy is probably my least favorite Nick Drake song, still good though.

Fozzie has terrible taste most of the time, but I'll agree that Fly and Poor Boy are my least favorites here. Used to dig Fly, but whenever I hear him hit those higher notes now it does sound pretty cheesey.

Instrumentation is fine though. I'm tired of people acting like a few added strings and jazzy solos are sooo unbearable.

The instrumental songs are a really nice touch imo. Kinda like on Pet Sounds.

At the Chime must be my favorite Drake song, the sax is so beautiful and I love how warm Nick's voice feels, but then again, it sounds that good in all of his songs

The Akuma no Uta album cover by Boris copied this. It looks exactly like it.
