there is nothing forgettable about deathcon

Eh, imo Deathcon is made of about half amazing tracks and half forgettable to meh. The sprawl is part of the appeal I guess but there's a much better 50-55 minute album hidden in those 85 or whatever minutes.

Idk I think the horns in Destinos are a pretty great crescendo

I only heard it once so idk, but it was the highlight for me. Also liked Trespassers.

dug through some YouTube comments and apparently Dan said at one point (quoting the commenter): "it's from a course from Yale, which is/was available online, named Philosophy of death or something similar."

this might be the same guy as in the sample? I'm not sure. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p2J7wSuFRl8

“Dracula Bells” fuckin rules. Imo side A is on par with previous work whereas side B is underwhelming

I actually think this is a fine album. It doesn't hurt like Giles Corey. It doesn't have the lingering effect of Deathconciousness, but it still stands as a good if not great album. I get the reactions to it though. I'm confused by it at times, but it has some very solid moments.

Then again I'm old and wtf do I know.

My gripes w/the album aside, it’s a pretty good album. I’m just thankful we even got a new HANL album in the first place.

I wish they remade Sisyphus. Probably my favorite song from Voids.

this version of Sisyphus probably wouldn't have much problem fitting on Sea of Worry.

@Ash the alternate version would definitely work for this album's sound... but I still prefer the original.

Voids, much like Deathcon, has this hollow, ominous, yet oddly welcoming tone to both of them. This new album doesn't have that magical feeling.
