The emotionally drained warble of "be a sweeter daughter...an honest father...a stronger brother. Be a self-less mother...a selfish lover" oof.

I like a lot of the music on this album, but what's up with that annoying Alfalfa thing the singer keeps doing, where she deliberately lets her voice break?

It's a fairly common stylistic choice...see Hop Along or Cranberries. It conveys emotional depth and the fallibility/frailty of the human experience.

I love Cranberries, but with Dolores, it's more of a yodel. When this singer does it, it just takes me right out of the song. It's a shame, because she has a good voice otherwise, and I like the songs.

boring and monotonous listen. I was disappointed and thought the music was pretty terrible. I don't really understand the jazz'd reviews. No hooks or melodies wanting me to revisit this album.

I'm at a total loss as well - this album is so overproduced and lifeless.

Hey, this is pretty good! First five and the closer are a little let down by everything in between, but this might just be better than the last Hop Along

That's nice to hear Johnny. I thought you might land in the camp that finds nothing in it.

Ah no, I dig this style when it's got enough life in it! First two + Mono no Aware are exactly my jam from this field

When that chorus comes in on English Garden it's so goddamn uplifting...unreal. You might find some different bits you enjoy as you go along but dark green water started amazing and really hasn't moved out of the top spot for me.

This was easily one of my favorite albums from 2019. Such a great sound that came out of the blue for me.
