It's Behemoth that drew inspiration from Mayhem, not the other way round ^^''

musically speaking I don't see all those similarities. I'm not hearing any poppish choir, children voices or orchestras. The drumming is really different. Also, the song structures are much less predictable than in the latest two Behemoth albums

Just because the production is less raw and more modern it doesn't mean it sounds like Behemoth indeed

Yeah just listened to this and I’m very confused by the Behemoth comparison because, of course, Behemoth were the ones who, so to speak, ripped off Mayhem in the first place and nothing on this album hasn’t already been done in pst Mayhem releases. If anything, to me this sounds more like a streamlined Esoteric Warfare with clean production. And the obvious, Behemoth are blackened death metal anyway and there’s not a second of death metal on here; cleanly produced black metal doesn’t make it death metal and if anything the shift in production likely has to do with the fact that the band was signed onto a new label (Century Media) to record and release this album.

Hot take: This bands output is much better without Varg and Euronymous.

"On October 16th 2019, in an interview with Loudwire and Consequence of Sound, Necrobutcher revealed that he also had had plans to kill Euronymous [who was killed first by Varg Vikernes] since he was disgusted by Euronymous's treatment of Dead."

God I can't hate Necrobutcher for those thoughts. If I knew somebody who did what Euro did, I'd have some seriously bad thoughts. What a disgusting pos Euro was.
