Presence just doesn't do it for me. Robert Plant's vocals were just off (due to that accident he had but still)

I vehemently dislike every LZ album besides this one, and I'll admit I'm generous with rating this one, but it's an honestly good hard rock album which is rare.

The review is very well written as always. However I disagree with your summary and of some other points. I agree this is a very consistent album and the most eclectic. Actually, it's my second favourite album from them after IV. And I also agree that "The Crunge" and "D'yer Mak'er" are two weak tracks. That is the only reason why I don't give this album a 5.0. The rest of it is amazing. However, I disagree that the band has too many blunders and that their other albums have mostly offensive stuff. Only "Coda" is down of a 4.0 in my Zep's scale.

The Crunge rules and is funky in the best way

D'yer Mak'er is also great, though it's probably my 2nd least favorite on here

Worst is the opening and it's the only weak point

I mean I don't hate it, but it's just like a regular rock song on their most varied album

Regular rock song -> intense string filled ballad -> Tolkein themed folk that turns into hard rock -> silly funk with amazing bass -> super catchy boogie rock (why wasn't this the lead single?) -> sad reggae rock -> epic psychedelic rock -> a catchy endearing upbeat closer dedicated to his daughter

James Brown's backup band in the 70s?

James Brown is very good, but it ain't P-Funk good or Sly good for that matter

SMDH, respect the classic suit and bow funk, man. Space funk is fun and all, but it ain't got nothin on the funk machine.

Can you at least agree that Bootsy Collins is one of the best bass players ever (since he was in both the J.B.s and P-funk?)
