Excellent review, well argued. I had fun with the first few tracks here but found it a slog to go through the album as a whole. And it definitely felt quite incoherent. I gave it a generous rate in part because of self doubt. Like, I could see some appeal to it but thought it just wasn't for me. Review is making think I should trust some of my objections more and be less generous.

I can understand the review (and it's very good written) but I think this record is far superior to "Meta" in nearly every way.

"Their writing logic seems to hinge around the assumption that the various loosely connected sections comprising each track are individually explosive, exciting and forceful enough to justify the near-total lack of segue that holds them together."
This sums Car Bomb up for me. Saw them at a festival back in July and couldn't understand the hype.
