"Ville wasn't even in the video"

i think a big part of that is that he's a lecturer in london so he likely can't go to finland due to covid restrictions currently

this is a total guess though - the only thing that makes sense

This rules. Vocals always have so much conviction behind them in my opinion, just crazy powerful.

Same, I honestly let the general opinion that its a weaker release keep me from giving it a fair shot, finally spun the whole thing and I was surprised at so many low ratings.

The Offering is so good, that whole second half with the 2 small guitar solos is just *chefs kiss*

The new single is standard Insomnium but is still really good.

lol, it takes 5 seconds to hear the chord progression and arrangement and say 'yep , this is Insomnium alright'. Heard the song once and already feels like I've heard it 100 times before.

New single is very run of the mill Insomnium. Everything they do is good of course but a little disappointed with it. No part of the song really stood out. Sounds like everything they’ve already done. Still real excited for a new album though.

Given the song lengths and placement of the single, I can totally bet it's the most straightforward track on the album

Seems like these guys have been on autopilot for a while now.

Another 3.0 Insomnium incoming?

If that's the case it might be an insta-5 for me lmao. This really picks up after the first 2 songs. Some of their best stuff ever tbh. I'm really digging the slower, doomier direction they went with here while still retaining the melody. M///

Anno 1696 is very similar to this album so you will probably like it too. It is filled with with great melodies and has some of their best songs imo. Although, I do think White Christ is there worst song, so I guess this album is more consistent.

The title track here is amazing. The acoustic intro is just too good.
