Indeed Trifo, that’s how Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink got his name after all. Probably one of the greatest names ever conceived thinking about it, cool dude as well.

Some sweet bass in this one, shame it's either buried, muddy or saturated. Wish they'd leave Nuclear Blast asap.

Ahaha! Football players again. Should have known. But that's a great example of it yeah.

Hate Blastified production too usually Sabrutin, but don't really feel this is that bad. Hope they'll leave them again, agreed. Just like poor Alcest, fingers crossed for that one...

this surpasses pale communion for me, which was already a 4.0 and my favorite album of their post-watershed era.

Agreed still on daily rotation. Some genious proper Opeth moments here. They've got their magic back as far as I'm concerned.

''Some genius proper Opeth moments here"

THIS^^^ It may be just me but I've noticed some moderately subtle hints at Ghost Reveries, Deliverance and Morningrises' sounds scattered throughout. There is a tiny bit of filler on here but It does definitely feel like an Opeth record and that's enough to keep my attention

Album is damn sweet in Swedish as well X) if not strangely better (?), considering I'm a zero at Swedish.

Yeah I feel the same way! The Swedish one is better, can't really pinpoint why but I think it has to do with the way how Mikael feels what he's singing. He seems to be very into the Swedish thing, like he really enjoys singing in his mother tongue. Perhaps we can hear that.

its mainly the fact that the album was first conceptualized in swedish and only later the english version was added. It just fits better cause you can never transcribe lyrics into another language and make it fit aswell as the original.

I thought Trif knew that? Weird.

Anyway... I still listen to this in English like the plebian simpleton I am (have heard the Swede version though).
