yeah, at least this is actually a somewhat pleasant listening experience for the most part

something you can't say about Fear Inoculum, which just drags and drags and oh fuck it's so dang boring

No that was another Swedish band, called ABBA.

Swedish version >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> English version agreed.

I don't. But I'm not a lyrics person (never was, probably never will be) so I don't mind me not being able to understand anything.

Plus he sounds just a bit more emotionally engaged in the Swedish version, and there are no weird rhythm/syllable moments like in the English one.

I like both, new Tool and this one , don't get the contest to be honest, i find really stupid when people do that. God they are not even close in style xd.

Some people clearly got angry that Opeth one-upped Tool the last time the two released an album in the same year. Different sounds, yes.

Their music might not be similar but their place in public opinion/the musical landscape kind of is.

They're both critically and commercially successful, past what is widely considered to be their peak, at a later point in their career, have been very popular, in the heavier section genre-wise, etc.

still like high vocals on De Närmast Sörjande. interesting to see Akerfeldt can't lift the growl anymore since their appearence on Wacken resurface!

Calm down Trif, you even have Fear Inoculum rated 4/5 haha

Flug more like known for dropping truths left and right, which not everyone can handle but that's their issue yknow

Not to bring this up again but yeah they're very different albums, but both bands did become big around the same time playing the same general genre. People are gonna compare when both release a new album in the same year, and one being long-anticipated.

Also Abba are great

hummmm....I thought this would be stupid...but this really fits even better in Swede...hum...never expected that tbh (even though aware its in their native, I always thought Swede is a too awkward of a lang)

I've never seen Opeth as a big band. Not musically, that's a matter of taste, but I've never come to perceive Opeth as a very famous band, not even famous.

Even as a Swede I think Swedish often comes of as a little bit cringy in singing, but in this case I think it just flows better. You can tell it was conceived in Swedish and then translated, as opposed to the other way around.

Yeah Tool are more famous, but Opeth aren't that far behind. Opeth even have their own brand of ale or something.

Well I still don't get why you have to compare 2 albums to diminish one or the other, that's really my point, both are really good, both are not the best in their careers but I don't like when ppl use it like a throwing weapon. Some guys seems to feel superior for the fact that listen to one band or the other.
