I don't know if new stuff would be anything like the Cynic everyone kind of knows. Not if they continue down the path they're going. The next release would basically be their Aeon Spoke project.

Ha ha. I'd love a remaster or even a legit re-recording, but I don't think Focus could handle just dropping the death vocals from the mix.

Listening to this, it's a lot shorter than I remember. Super concise songs. But also...jesus, yeah. I miss Tymon. My brain was expecting and inserting the beginnings of his growls but then....just nothing. I'm not sure I understand their removal fully still. And hearing it this well-produced, I just want more! New album when.

Honestly, this mix removed pretty much all the punch the album had going for it, i listened with dollar store earbuds and the cymbal work was barely audible compared to the og. Even focus sounds better than this

You might consider getting better equipment. I listened to both albums with $400 headphones and the cymbals were way more pronounced. Don’t blame them for not giving a shit about how you take in music ;)

This probably would sound solid in a club ill give you that, idk traced in airs been a car cd for me for like a decade and my immediate reaction to this isss it sounds like a live soundboard rip. (edit: i heard the remix off spotify in normie qual)

The bass sounds incredible on this version, but I can't see myself ever coming back to this version. The original is perfect as it is, and the growls are great.

The remix is very detailed and provides a larger headroom but it's not the same without the harsh vox for me. :[

Also ew the Spotify/CD mastering is pretty bad, ironically a problem the original has too. Anybody with a convenient vinyl rip, step up.

As for Focus, the original presses are excellent so the only thing it'd need is to stop selling the trash remasters and start selling the original again imo haha.
