tbf the reason skiba and mark don’t contrast as well as mark and tom because skiba is so much fucking better than both of them

Listening to any blink album without Tom just further convinces me that Mark is built to be a backup vocalist, not a lead.

Punk rock this is not. But holy shit this is probably the best pop rock album of the year. I loved California for all its flaws, but this I can honestly say is genuinely great again. It's easily as good as neighborhoods, which is my second fave blink album.

But Mark sings lead on some of their biggest songs?

Yeah you are right this is definitely a pop rock. It just really baffles me why this from start has not just been a new name/project with skiba instead of pretending this is still Blink 182. Any hint of their usual sonic trademarks are completely lost on this album, which neighborhoods at least had some of. As I said I am all for experimentation and maturing but to my ears the untitled, neighborhoods and dogs eating dogs albums all sounds more mature and inspired than these last two albums. It sounds like regression and given in to the sounds of current modern top 40 music instead of a natural progression.

I can only assume they kept the name because of the money involved.

I am glad most of you enjoy it, I guess it is just not an album made for me.

Tracks 7-15 are all really good. The first six are more conventional, but still not bad for modern Blink. Totally agree and relate to the review.

One listen in this is so blah and boring. For a pop-punk album it's just completely lifeless

As a long time Blink fan and someone who doesn't mind immaturity in music, I find this embarrassing. I'm quite surprised that it isn't absolutely torched here.

All of their marketing budget for this album went to lining the pockets of the sput staff. This album's painfully forgettable.

This is pretty forgettable and bland after my second listen. But I’m gonna spin it more to see if it catches on some

Feeling like a 2.5-3 right now. That said, I love Remember to Forget Me. The First Time, Run Away And Black Rain are the other initial highlights for me.

hmm. idk, i went into this just wanting some catchy songs, and i got that and pretty consistently. Album is fun and should have been released in June for summer.

I am not a regular listener of the band and I had their song blame it on my youth come on in an advertisement on YouTube and i was like who the hell is this annoying poppy band, and when i saw it was blink 182 i thought man, what the hell is going on here.

So yeah. Hope the rest of the album is better than that song

It is. That’s one of the worst here. That said, the album is only pretty good imo.
